Going Out for Supper

No - this isn't another post about my weight (which is still the same).

I want to talk about going out to eat with the family, with Lucy more specifically. Thank goodness this has become so much easier. When she was really little we always had to bring everything along; however, now, we can order her items off of the menu and can just get a little cup of water, with a straw, for her to drink out of. Not too bad at all. Except...

Remember when I told you about our little chihuahua clean-uppers?

Where are they when you need them?

This was after I picked up about half of it!

And, yes, Lucy is wiping her own face, after dinner. :)

Long story short, I ended up squatting down with a plate and wipe, picking up random, small pieces of food. I just feel so guilty. 1) We allow her to do this at home, because of the Chihuahuas. Perhaps we should rethink this. 2) She is too young to really understand. I think I just confused her by saying "No." 3) I was a waitress in high school (yes - it's true), so I know what it is like to clean up after little kids (it sucks!).

Do your children do this? Do you pick it up? Or, do you just tip bigger? :)

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving...

...that May is almost here! Bring on even warmer weather!

...Lucy's hair turning strawberry blonde! My hair turned that color when I was her age, just before turning really blonde! :) She may just look like her mommy yet!

...that I cleaned.....okay, 'picked-up' our entire house on Monday. Whew! It was a lot of work and lots of trips up and down the stairs (yay for burning calories!). But, I much rather come home to an organized home each night (even if I need to dust - really bad!).

...how my newest diet has been going thus far. Okay, so it has only been two days; but, hey - you gotta start somewhere! Thank goodness I got in some really good Easter crap-food before hand. :) I stuffed some Reese's Peanut Butter Eggs....YUM!

And, I was able to eat this scrumcious snack too, before the big diet.
Isn't the bunny cute? My boss gave these to me.

And, last, I had creamy brownies with cream cheese frosting at Easter too.
I had two of them and some crumbs that fell off of my sister's....haha.

...my new Sperry Top-Siders.

...again, Lucy's new playroom! We have been getting a lot of use out of it too:

...my new favorite posts page! It gives readers a chance to read past posts, without reading everything.

...my readers, commenters, followers, visitors, and subscribers.

...my family, specifically my husband; he was mad that he didn't get a personal shout-out last week.

"You weren't lovin' me?"

So, there you go Heath. ;) I'm always "lovin'" you!

..as always, my Lucy.

Lucy's First Egg Hunt

Last Saturday, Lucy had her first Easter Egg Hunt! :)  It was one of the community egg hunts and as I mentioned before, there were some pretty fun prizes.

I didn't get the chance to practice with Lucy at all. In fact, we just play with the plastic eggs at home; so, she didn't quite understand the hiding/looking for them. And, when she got to one and picked it up, she had no desire to look for more. She was happy playing with the first egg.

Oh well...I think she had lots of fun.

When we first got there, we all gathered in the building. All the children were running around,  playing like crazy.  A sweet little girl came up and gave Lucy a ball.

Lucy was in awe of all the children running around. She loves to watch children play. So, she just sat there, like that, until the hunt started.  They separated kids into two groups: 5 years and up and four years and under. Heath and I knew right away that Lucy would be lucky to get any eggs.

She did get some candy. The 'bigger' kids didn't seem to want that; they were too busy looking for eggs.

And, she found TWO eggs! :)

I know what you all are thinking...I helped her out a lot. Just so you know that I didn't, here are some photos.

I did have to make her put it in the basket, to look for more.

All in all, she found two green eggs! :) Now, she just needs some ham.....haha....lame joke, I know. I sometimes just can't contain the corniness.

The eggs only had jelly beans inside, no big prizes. But, it didn't matter; we enjoyed watching Lucy. It was a great practice run for when the Easter Bunny comes this Sunday. :) I can't wait! We are dying eggs tonight!

HAPPY EASTER
EVERYONE!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Again, I'm linking up with Jamie from this kind of love for What I'm Loving Wednesday.

I'm Loving...

...that American Idol is on tonight. I think I'm borderline obsessed at this point. I love Casey and James!

...the way Lucy puts her sunglasses on. This is how she wears them:

and, at night...no doubt! :)
"I wear my sunglasses at night..."
...that my dad is getting married in Texas soon and we are traveling down for the wedding! :) Vacation! Yay!

...our new playroom! Go here to check out all the pics!

...that this weekend is Easter! I get to see family! And, it is a long weekend! Yippee!

...that we are dying eggs this Friday night! I got the glitter pack - hope it works! I'll let you know.

...my new lunches! I was getting sick of the same old thing (SmartOnes pastas); so, I found some new favorites!

This is really good. I love the asparagus! But, it makes you have garlic breath; so, have the gum or toothbrush on standby.

Can you tell I like garlic?  Beware: as good as these are, they are very strong smelling!! Thank goodness my co-workers don't mind!

These Mini Cheeseburgers were surprisingly good, to me.
...my new 'Lose It' app for my iPhone. You can set a goal of how many pounds you want to lose a week. Then it tells you how many calories to eat per day. It has a search-able food center to log calories. And, it has an awesome log for exercising and how many calories I've burned (and get back! :)).

Check the application out!

...our new red mulch! It has changed the look of our entire yard. Plus, I price matched it at Walmart for only $2.25 a bag! Heck yes! It looks awesome, was a good deal, and I burnt a ton of calories working in the yard.

...MyPartyShirt.com! I heard about this site from Randi at S Club 4. She is even having a give-a-way too! The site has a lot of great items; but, I think I want the one below most.
If you don't understand this, shame on you. It's off of 'Saved by the Bell.'
My sister already got me this shirt below for my birthday, two years ago:

My sister and I LOVED the 'Mighty Ducks!'

Please excuse the big mouth! haha.
Adam Banks was my favorite. I had a crush on him! :)

...my family, friends, readers, commenters, subscribers, and visitors.

...as always, my baby Lucy. :)

What are you loving this Wednesday? Anything that I'm loving too?

Renovation: Complete!!

We are done! Whew! It took us about 2 months, which isn't too bad. A big thanks to my husband and his family for doing this for us (Ron, Bob, Sam, and Derek)! I am so excited to share the completed room with you!

If you are just now joining us, go check out the Basement to Playroom Transition. Then, check out all of the updates: Renovations.

And, the drum roll please...the photos you have all been waiting for...click on any pictures to make them larger, then hit back.

This is a three photo comparison of one of the walls: the before, the in-progress, and the after. This was the creation of a whole new wall.

Next, is the corner you see when you first walk into the room. Sorry - some of the angles aren't exact. As you can see, we painted that black beam white and finished the ceiling.

Here is the stairway down and my new holiday storage closet! Again, the angles are bad - sorry!

Here is another look toward the stairs.

It seriously doesn't even look like the same room! Here are some more photos of the room:

In case you were wondering what was in all of those storage containers...

Clothes for dress-up and doll clothes
ABC blocks

Small toys

Large toys

Large Legos

Stuffed animals
Here is a closer look at my new framed books, from my dad. Read more about it here.

And, here are more of our books. We have a ton of Golden Books!

And, finally, I will leave you with a picture of my new shelf. I had so many Lucille Ball items. I have collected them for a while now. I used to put them in our spare bedroom; but, that is now my Lucy's nursery. :) So, my collection had been in totes for a couple of years.  Now, they are all up and proudly displayed. I love it!

All the dolls are Lucille Ball dolls, except for the one on the left. That is Lucy's 2010 Holiday Barbie. And, my husband would like me to mention that he has one more bracket to put up on the left side; so, that is why it looks lop-sided.
I tried not to be so girly; but, the flowers and butterflies on the walls pushed me right over the female edge. Oh well. I will worry about making it more neutral when the time comes (if at all).

Lucy loves her new room! She just runs and plays all over. We all love it and are very excited that it is complete!

What do you think?

Thought I would share...

Yep - I'm double blogging - my sincerest apologies. Okay, not really, perhaps 1/8th of my sincerity.

Anyway,...I didn't know if any of my readers here at I Love Lucy Jean were into celebrity gossip and such. If so...you should go over to my other blog:

I've had a couple of posts on Celebrity Look-A-Likes....if you are interested.

Just thought I would share!

SpongeBob Screwed-Up Pants

I'm a fan of SpongeBob. I really am. In fact, I used to watch it back when I was in high school. Patrick cracks me up!

Anyway, I was never a huge fan of Lucy watching SpongeBob though. Well, I'm not really supposed to be letting her watch any television at all. But, you know what? We can't keep it away from her! She loves it! I've created a monster!

We know that the American Pediatrics Something-or-Another says that children under the age of two years old should not watch any television. And, when they do start watching television that they should only watch one hour a day.

Do you follow this rule?

I confess - we don't always. We do allow her to sit down with us on the weekend and watch a family movie. She has enjoyed The Princess and the Frog, Bolt, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Despicable Me. We are probably going to let her watch Hop with us this weekend too. Is that awful?

To get on with my story....Lucy loves SpongeBob. We've even allowed her to watch it on occasion; because, Heath and I enjoy it too. Bad reason - but, I'm being honest. Until...

One Saturday morning I'm watching the ol'Bob with Lucy. It is yet another episode about Plankton trying to get the Krusty Krab secret recipe. Somehow, Sandy the Squirrel fit into the story line and she accidentally takes Plankton home in her water suit. When she arrives home, she decides to take a shower.

Then, to my horror, what does she do? She takes her fur off. What? Yes! She take her fur off!!!

And, then she hangs it on a hook next to the shower!

Plankton is watching all of this, by the way, which is a little screwed-up too.

So, Sandy is joyfully showering, bald.

While her fur carcass is hanging next to her.

What?!

Then, Plankton steals the fur shell, to pose as Sandy and steal the recipe.

Is this disturbing to anyone else?

Let's pretend for a second that it isn't gross and messed up; it's inaccurate! I don't want Lucy thinking that squirrels' skin just comes off!

I'm at a loss for words about the images I have just laid before you...

Personal thoughts?

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I am loving...

...that the playroom is almost finished! Heath finished painting everything, hung the ceiling fan, and even put all the vents and outlet covers back! It was pretty impressive.

...Kirstie Alley. She is a wreck on DWTS; but, she is hilarious!

DANCING WITH THE STARS - "Episode 1201" - A star-studded cast filled with celebrities across a variety of genres are set to compete each week on the dance floor. Performing either the Foxtrot or the Cha Cha Cha, all 11 couples danced for the first time on live national television in the spectacular two-hour season premiere of "Dancing with the Stars," MONDAY, MARCH 21 (8:00-10:02 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network. ...my new book frame. My dad had these little five cent books, from when he was little. They were sitting in the bottom of a tote. I asked if I could frame them for Lucy's playroom. He said sure, since they were too fragile to actually let Lucy read or play with. They are 50 years old! I took them to our local framers and this is what they did:

I chose the matte to match the red playroom carpet.
This was the last view before they ordered the frame.
This is a bad picture of the final product, with a hairy, ghostly orb in the left-hand corner. Okay, okay - that's our chihuahua, Squirt, standing in the sun. I'll be sure to show you the frame in the finished playroom.
...that our community is having an Easter Egg Hunt this weekend. And, they have an age group for Lucy! :) I may have to practice picking up eggs with her. haha.

...Lucy is sleeping through the night again. We had a rough patch with her being sick and teething more.

...that I will be getting a new blog design soon! We've been working on something and I just can't wait to have a new, fun, cleaner, crisper, wider look! So, don't be completely shocked if it changes, randomly, one day. (No, the new turquoise header is NOT what I am talking about.)

...thunderstorms! There is a thunderstorm coming through in the next couple of days and I'm excited!

...Easter is almost here! The E.B. got some very special gifts for Lucy; I just know it. I have a feeling that includes green jeggings. :)

...we are watching Hop this weekend. Look for a review on Foo Foo Review next week. I really like James Marsden too. He's pretty easy on the eyes.

...that it's Hump Day! Only two and a half more work days! Is it inappropriate to bring up Hump Day after discussing how cute James Marsden is? I'm just asking...

...my readers, followers, commenters, and email subscribers! I love hearing that people are interested in our stories.

...my family and most of all, my Lucy!
